They ensure timely and secure delivery while maintaining accurate records of items handled. Their work is essential for communication, business operations, and logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver parcels, letters, and packages promptly
- Plan delivery routes for efficiency and timely service
- Obtain signatures and maintain records of deliveries • Verify the accuracy and condition of items before and after delivery
- Handle cash, checks, or other payments, if required
- Communicate with clients to confirm delivery details
- Ensure compliance with safety and transportation regulations
- Maintain vehicles, bicycles, or delivery equipment
- Report lost, damaged, or undelivered items
- Assist with sorting, packaging, and organising items for dispatch
