Agreements With HEIs

A HEISs Agreement between a student and an education agent is a formal document that clearly defines the terms, responsibilities, and expectations of both parties during the agreement process. It ensures transparency and protects the interests of the student while establishing professional accountability for the agent. The agreement typically includes details such as the services to be provided (e.g., counselling, application submission, documentation support), fees and payment terms, refund policies, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines. It may also outline the student’s responsibilities—such as providing accurate information, timely submission of documents, and compliance with visa and university requirements. A well-drafted student agreement builds mutual trust and helps avoid misunderstandings or disputes later in the process.

At the International Education Consultants Training Workshops (IECTW), participants are taught how to draft and implement effective University-Agent Agreements that comply with legal and ethical standards. The training covers the importance of transparent communication, clear refund clauses, and adherence to data protection laws (like GDPR and CCPA). Trainees review sample agreements to understand structure, tone, and essential clauses that safeguard both the consultancy and the student. By adopting well-defined agreements, consultants demonstrate professionalism, enhance credibility, and create a secure, transparent, and student-centered consultancy environment.
